Decompression, Recompression and HBOT

The successful Scott Haldane course entitled "Decompression, Recompression and HBOT" has been updated to include the latest insights drawn from the results of worldwide research. This year the course will be held in Brussels the capital of Belgium.
This course is part of the internationally recognized certification for Diving Medicine Physicians, and is Continuous Medical Education (CME) for Diving Medicine Physicians and the Medical Examiners of Divers accredited by the ECB. It focuses on three areas within the field of hyperbaric and diving medicine; the background and practice of decompression, recompression, and hyperbaric oxygen therapy. Two internationally recognized lecturers from this field will give the course to ensure its high quality.
In recent years, a lot of work has been done to address the causes of decompression sickness. As a result, new insights and theories are being brought to light. This course, which is delivered by internationally renowned lecturers, discusses theories on the origin of decompression bubbles, the effects of decompression, prevention of the harmful effects of decompression bubbles, and the significance of these factors for diving and divers.

Hyperbaric Oxygen therapy (HBOT) is still not valued in mainstream medicine; is this due to ignorance or lack of familiarity? In this course we will try to answer this question.
In addition to the mechanisms involved in the administration of oxygen under pressure, we will also address the usage of HBOT in otorhinolaryngology, as well as other areas where HBOT is indicated. Last but not least, the latest developments in the field of HBOT will be discussed.
